Bags2School

Music Partnership
From September, Class 2 will be learning to play stringed instruments. Lessons will be provided by the Music Partnership and are free!
Summer Picnic and Gardening
Sudbury Supporters' Group held a Summer Picnic on Saturday, 17th July at 2pm.There was be a bouncy slide, rounders tournament, tug of war and strawberries, as well as other things going on. They raised £181, to be spent on the children. The group is gathering together some willing helpers to tackle our walled garden and have nominated Saturday, 31st July and Saturday, 21st August as gardening days. All volunteers will be welcomed. Sudbury Prison are helping to clear the pond, with tools leant to us by the National Trust at Sudbury Hall.
Golf Club
Six children took part in a tournament with other schools at Ashbourne Golf Club on Tuesday, 13th July. We didn't win but everyone tried their best and received a certificate. It would be good to carry on with the Golf Club in the new term.
Sports Day
After 44 races, Dragons were the runaway winners. They hold the new Sports Cup for a year. It was a pleasure to welcome children from Kids' Corner Pre School: they behaved wonderfully and took part in the events with determination.
Zoo Trip
Everyone enjoyed our visit to Twycross Zoo on 9th July. We were especially fascinated by the baby elephant and the huge sea lion.
Football Club
The Football Club is running on Thursdays after school at the moment. Mr. Darlow has taken over from Mr. Ingram for a while. Years 2 to 6 are welcome.
First Aid
By the end of the term, Class 2 will have a grasp of basic First Aid, thanks to Amanda Quigley - Carroll, a parent governor. She is leading our sessions, using materials from the St. John's Ambulance Organisation. The children have already learned how to put a casualty into the recovery position.
Change 4 Life
Class 2 are lucky enough to have a lunchtime club, afternoon lessons and after school club every Friday, provided by the Change 4 Life team. We are learning about healthy lifestyles, including diet and exercise.
Boomwhacker Experience
Unbeatable Energy Ltd. led our Boomwhacker day. We experienced drumming and the use of boomwhackers (percussion sticks) in a series of creative, colourful workshops. The children loved being free to make a loud noise in lesson time! Many thanks to our Support Group for funding this fun day.
'Alice in Wonderland'
'Unconditioned Arts' Theatre Group performed their version of this Lewis Carroll classic for all of us. Everyone enjoyed it and learned lots about how to present characters. It was a great story as well, of course.
