Here you will find the latest learning updates whilst the school is closed. We will update it regularly with maths videos and other instructions. Should you wish to contact us to discuss anything e.g. if your child is struggling with some of the learning or needs signposting to other resources, then please contact us on email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org (please copy both teachers in to your email so they are aware of what has been communicated) or email@example.com whichever is appropriate . As this is such an uncertain time and we aren't sure about the volume of emails we'll receive, please bear with us if it takes us some time to reply. If your teacher falls ill, then you will see a note on the page to let you know they are effectively 'off-sick'. In this case, children can continue with the learning packs that they were sent home with or access the many websites that offer free resources (see below). We will alert you to when your teacher is better and able to update the page again.
We completely appreciate that not all parents will feel confident in 'teaching' some of the learning activities so if we can support you via email we will but if children 'have a go' independently then this is fine too. Also, we understand that each household will adopt their own timetable for their days. There is no expectation that children sit and work between 8:35 and 3:20 everyday. and we happily encourage wider learning such as baking cakes, playing games (computer or board games), bouncing on the trampoline or learning to use a vacuum!
As part of our PSHE curriculum, the children are familiar with Harold the giraffe who helps teach them about spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspects of life.
Harold – the happy, healthy giraffe mascot is a favourite with children – and will be posting a daily blog: Harold’s Daily Diary! Here’s the link to it:
Each day he’ll be giving children positive, fun messages about what he’s doing to stay happy and healthy while he’s off school, separated from his friends. He’ll invite the children to join in with activities he’s doing.
He’ll be giving children ideas for how he – and they – can get a routine going for their day, including the things we all need to do to live a balanced, healthy life. These include:
· Taking regular exercise
· Being creative
· Helping others
· Connecting with others – in ways that are safe
· Mindfulness – learning to enjoy the moment, here and now.

With the schools closed and with us all spending more time at home, it's more important than ever that we keep moving and stay healthy and positive. Exercise is an amazing tool to help us feel happier, more energised, and more optimistic.
