Pupil Premium Entitlement

The Pupil Premium is a government grant introduced in 2011 to help schools close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers. It is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who are:

  • Eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) now or have been at any point in the last six years

  • Looked after by the local authority (LAC)

  • Previously looked after and now adopted or under special guardianship

  • From families with parents in the armed forces

The funding is used by schools, including Sudbury Primary School, to provide additional support, resources, and opportunities to ensure all children can achieve their full potential, regardless of their background.

Could You Be Eligible?

If you think your child may be eligible for Pupil Premium funding, we strongly encourage you to get in touch. Even if your child is in Reception, Year 1, or Year 2 and already receives Universal Infant Free School Meals, registering for Pupil Premium could provide additional support for your child and the school.

Please contact Sara Peat (School Business Officer) for a confidential discussion. You can speak to her in school or call 01283 585251 for more information.
