PE experienced in a safe and supportive environment is vital to a child’s physical and emotional development. The pupils are encouraged to develop increasing confidence and skill in the use and control of their bodies.
We teach all six areas of the National Curriculum – athletics, dance, games, gymnastics, outdoor and adventure activities and swimming (Juniors only). Y6 also complete bikeability level 1 and 2. The school also uses some of its PE Funding to employ sports coaches from Burton Albion Community Trust on a weekly basis and for after school activities. As well as PE lessons twice a week (using Get Set 4 PE lessons).
We use regular Forest School sessions and the KS2 residential to provide pupils with the opportunity to take part in outdoor and adventurous activity challenges involving problem solving, collaboration, teamwork, critical thinking and to develop communication skills.
